About the event:

On Sunday, October 6, Royal Palms Brooklyn shuffleboard players will be headed to Franklin Alley Social Club in Troy to compete in the Shuffle Battle III For Ultimate Glory 2024 tournament. If you did not attend Shuffle Battle I or II and don’t know what this is, it is a really fun way to bring these two shuffleboard-obsessed communities together for some friendly competition.

What time is the event?

Doors open at 10:30am. Brooklyn and Troy players must check in between 10:30am and 10:50am. Opening remarks take place 10:50am – 11:00am and the first matches begin at 11:00am. The final match will conclude by 7:00pm.

How much are the tickets?

Tickets are $50 per team ($25 per person). Only one team member needs to buy a ticket.

How do I register if I don’t have a teammate?

No problem! Purchase a team ticket and we will either pair you with another individual ticket holder or someone from the waitlist. We will refund you the $25 price difference.

How will I let you know my doubles partner?
After you enroll, we will send out a survey asking if you have a planned partner or if you need help finding one.

When will tickets go on sale?

Tickets will go on sale to NYSA members Friday, September 6 at 12:00 pm via the NYSA member email list. Tickets will go on sale to the general public Friday, September 6 at 3:00 pm via NYSA’s instagram page and through our Discord community “Get the Drift,” which you can join here. There will be separate sign up links for Brooklyn and Troy tickets. One member will need to be a NYSA member to get access to the link and buy tickets at noon. It is not required for both players to be NYSA members.

How are we collecting payment?
We are using RecRec for sign up.

Can non-players hang out?

Yes! Spectators are free to hang out, support the Franklin Alley bar, and watch the festivities without buying a ticket.

Can I get a refund if I change my mind about attending?

Tickets are eligible for refunds until Tuesday, September 24 until 11:59:59 pm. After that, we will review individual situations and determine whether we can find someone to take your spot.

What is the tournament format?

  • This will be a single elimination doubles tournament with a total of 32 teams (64 players).
  • There will be 16 teams from Franklin Alley and 16 teams from Royal Palms Brooklyn.
  • All first round matches will be a Franklin Alley team vs. a Royal Palms Brooklyn team.
  • If you win your match, you continue to the next round. If you lose your match, you are eliminated. Eliminated teams are encouraged to cheer for members of their home club who are still in the tournament.
  • The tournament winners’ home club wins the shuffleboard battle and gets to keep the biscuit trophy until the next shuffle battle.

What is the match format?

  • Matches will consist of a single 8 frame doubles game.
  • In the event of a tie, two additional frames will be played. Additional frames will continue in two-frame increments until the tie is broken.

You can watch the shuffleboard games or enjoy the Franklin Alley Social Club. Arcade games, karaoke and board games will be available for play.

Will Franklin Alley be open to play shuffleboard on Saturday if I’d like to spend the weekend upstate?

No! Franklin Alley will not be open on Saturday (it will be closed for a private event). But it will be open to the public on Friday if you’d like to rent a court and get some reps in.
